Settings #

Settings combine operational account tools: private cloud storage with Google Drive and MEGA, iNaturalist and selected administrative actions.

iNaturalist #

iNaturalist features are optional and disabled by default. To use them, open Settings, select Enable iNaturalist features, and save the account settings. The connection tab, publishing, iNat mapping and iNaturalist elements on record pages appear only after this option is enabled.

Private cloud: Google Drive and MEGA #

The private cloud section shows the status of connections used for storing media, exports and data copies outside the main ENTOMONE server.

Google Drive lets the user connect a Google account. Disconnecting Google Drive does not delete Drive files; it only stops API access from ENTOMONE.

MEGA is the second supported private cloud direction. If MEGA is active for the account, Settings show it as an available user file repository. If it is not active, Settings show a neutral not-connected state.

ENTOMONE should not ask for a MEGA password, 2FA code or recovery key in the user panel. Cloud connections and statuses should be handled as a controlled system mechanism, not by entering private secrets into a regular form.

JPG/JPEG photo saving #

In Settings, choose how new JPG/JPEG photos are saved. The default Resize and compress option lets you choose a longest side of 1600, 1800, or 2400 px and JPEG quality 72, 78, or 85. The default is 1800 px at quality 78.

Original from phone stores new JPG/JPEG files without resizing, recompression, or EXIF changes. The gallery thumbnail is created separately. Upload and storage limits still apply, and this setting never changes photos already saved.

JPG/JPEG photo-saving settings: resize and compress or preserve the original phone file

How to use this topic #

Use this page as the practical reference for the ENTOMONE feature named in the title. It follows the English terminology contract: site for stanowisko, locality for the text place on one record, record for an observation or working entry, and dataset for the working data collection.

Important rule #

When this topic affects records, media, Google Drive, MEGA or iNaturalist, treat local ENTOMONE data as the source of your working database. External services are connected workflows, not replacements for the private database.
