Site visits #
A site visit records a specific date of work at a site. It matters especially when one site is visited more than once.

What visits are for #
A visit records when you worked at a site. This lets records from the same site and the same day be linked to the same visit.
Breeding #
For breeding, the visit date means the date the material was collected in the field, not the date the specimen was obtained. When publishing a Breeding record to iNaturalist, the Observed date is set to the visit date, if it is available.
No visit #
If a site has no visit, or the record is not linked to one, publication can fall back to the record date. It is still worth completing the visit whenever you have data about the material collection.
